On a car-less summer island, I travel barefoot to neighboring communities on the beach or sandy back roads, to explore, visit with friends, listen to music, or work, for the Fire Island News. How blessed am I?!
Despite the missing dunes, drumming can still be heard beginning just before sunset on Monday evenings at Sagg Main Beach in Sagaponack. Post-Sandy, off-roading is limited. The parking situation remained the same. Town of Southampton Permit needed, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Local treasures were found in the form of food, fun, merchandise and charitable organizations in Sag Harbor this Harborfest weekend.
